There is no such thing as being too prepared for a job interview. Interviews can be nerve wracking and sometimes you feel like you could have done more to prepare.
Now that you’ve properly researched the company and prepared for the job. Here are 5 tips to help you prepare prior to your job interview :
Dress to impress. First impressions matter so make a good impression. Pick an outfit in advance, make sure it’s formal and match it with clean comfortable shoes.
Check our article to find out how to choose a winning dress code.
Make at least 2 copies of all required documents and make a little portfolio. Resume, cover letter, reference letters, certificates relating to job. This way you are ready if they ask for them. Find a business-like bag to carry them.
Just like the saying goes practice makes perfect, practise how to respond to questions you are uncomfortable with.
Eat a healthy meal even though you are nervous. You need the energy and a growling stomach during the job interview is embarrassing. Make sure you don’t have food in your teeth or stains on your clothes and to be extra safe carry some mints for a fresh breath.
Don’t be late 🕘
As part of your research you should know the time and location of the interview. Ensure that you know how to get to place. It’s always a good idea to visit the place prior to the interview.
Done these 5 steps? You can relax !
Did you know that you will perform better relaxed than stressed? Of course you did!
So keep calm and carry on! 🌟
